Casual Society and Fusilier London are high-end menswear clothing brands offering lines that range from luxury casualwear to Sport-lux streetwear aesthetics. Both brands are stylish and possess strong but subtle aesthetics’ designed to attract the younger luxury conscious Gen Z, Millennials and the stylish Gen X who have large disposable incomes and want to stand out from the crowd.

Our Design & Production team specialises in the use of laminated materials, velvets, micro-leather, specialist inks, rubberised plastics and couture threads that provide the high-end graphic finishes and logo designs that embellish our garments. Our collections feature very expensive and bespoke accessories like zippers, press studs and buttons that provide the authentic Sport Lux finishes expected from our target audience.

Creative Development Hub – Work Space Philosophy
The warehouse/office environment will reflect the brand’s ambitions for success and the personality of the people who operate within the space.

The Directors of the business see the creative team as “stakeholders” and have therefore decided that the core of the creative sales team will be responsible not only for the acquisition of the warehouse space but will also be responsible for the studio fit-out. The studio/hub will become a fast-paced business arena imbuing a sense of ownership and pride of place for the team.

The studio space will host the Digital Marketing Sales Suite, Ecommerce and Fashion Photography Studio, and High-spec Fashion Showroom. The Showroom, Bar and Working Canteen area will be used for hosting B2B & B2C coffee meetings and events that will give exposure to the creative team and designers who will flow around the fast-paced creative hub interfacing with visiting clients.

The Role - Business Partner Role

The Financial Manager/Director role will suit someone who is not only financially astute with an impeccable track record but also someone who wants to be part of an international boutique fashion business, leading the project to be a “Digital First Leader” in the online sport-lux and eventually the entertainment market.

The individual required must come from a retail background and have a passion for the luxury creative industries.

Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, this position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations which include digital marketing sales and fulfilment business in the UK which also comprises our own manufacturing facility in Izmir Turkey established in 2014.

Longer-term there is a view for this person to step into a Finance Director position, where the role will become strategically and commercially focused on the growth of the business in Turkey and the UK late in 2022.

Main Responsibilities

The Finance Director/Manager will need to be knowledgeable about retail or another similar highly transactional business sector with the same/similar remit.

The successful candidate will be eager to work in a start-up environment and have experience of most of the following and/or willing to grow into such a role with the help of our appointed chartered accountancy firm.

The scope of service will mostly include:

  1. Full responsibility for the management of the finance function on a day-to-day basis.
  2. Responsible for driving the forecasting and budgeting and managing the production of the monthly management accounts.
  3. Bank reconciliations
  4. Invoicing and reconciling payments
  5. Preparing and filing the quarterly VAT returns
  6. Supporting the business owners with mid-term financial planning and longer-term growth strategy, including building out a finance team.
  7. Monitor the AP/AR functions
  8. Work closely with other department managers to review invoices
  9. Maintain fixed assets register
  10. Look after the treasury function
  11. Responsible for working on ad-hoc project work.
  12. Heading up the implementation of the UK growth strategy
  13. Heading up the implementation of the Turkish manufacturing growth strategy
  14. Taking ownership of the budgeting and forecasting and working capital strategies
  15. Leading the transformation of systems and processes
  16. Business partnering with non-finance, including Sales & Marketing
  17. Managing & leading a team of junior finance professionals Stakeholder management, particularly where investors may be involved
  18. Financial oversight of the modelling provided to investors, and investor reporting.
  19. Lead on monthly reporting, providing strategic guidance and direction
  20. Drive revenues, gross margins, and profitability
  21. Implementing and reporting on company KPI’s and benchmarking
  22. Developing and maintaining first-class systems, processes, and controls
  23. Working with external accountants: Prepare and present monthly management accounts
  24. Responsible for merchandise planning model to inform stock buys
  25. Ensure that the regulatory requirements are met
ACCOUNTANTS - OUTLINE SCOPE OF SERVICE

  2. Knowledgeable in providing customers flexible ways to pay and how the payment structures customers use affect profit, loss and cashflow.

  6. Freight and import & exports and logistics and inland transportation
  7. Financial management for international staff, production, commercial premises, business rates and international taxation coordination
  8. Flexible payments
  9. Experience in customer services, returns and refunds
  10. Empathise genuinely with the customers
  11. Experience Developing retail sites from inception
  12. Retail from sales sites, website, apps and social media platforms
  13. Stock Control Management and Replenishment
  14. Implementation of Processes for the complexities of International cashflow and finance models
  15. Decisions on investments and technologies
  16. Help the business understand, when to and when not to invest or spend
  17. Benefit and risk case analysis modelling
  18. Fulfilment Centre Distribution, shipping, stocktakes and the logistics thereof.
  19. Planning retail, operations, buying and merchandising teams
  20. Costs and profit contributions
  21. Warehouse and fulfilment and staffing
  22. Auditing, Risk management
  23. Managing sales fluctuations, rapid market change, trends and planned sales versus market and customer
  24. spending fluctuations and adjusting cash flow to consider fluctuations.
  25. Everything is interlinked, so you need to understand how a decision on one area might affect something happening elsewhere.
  26. You’ll need to be able to grasp very quickly the dynamics of managing external bricks and mortar store accounts, online sales channels, B2B relationships, marketplaces, and wholesale.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

You are required to be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a commercial background in FMCG retail.

You will have budgeting, forecasting, analysis and business partnering experience and ideally, you will have had exposure to revenue growth management. You will have excellent communication skills and the gravitas to deal with senior, often non-financial, stakeholders.
